We urge all the United Christian Democratic Party members not be moved the statements made on National and Community Radio Stations by myopic thinkers who claim to be speaking on behalf of Kgosi Mangope, who they allege that the Court has granted him his Leadership position.

We still maintain that there is only one UCDP and its Leader is Hon I S Mfundisi who was democratically elected into the position after the passing on of Mrs Matladi, may her soul rest in peace.

We would like to remind the media that Kgosi Mangope lost the appeal to interdict the Congress that was scheduled for the 29th January 2011. The then presiding Judge adviced or suggested that since Kgosi Mangope alleges that he has multitudes of followers he should go and contest those elections; for the reasons known to him and his followers he did not heed the advice and that did not stop the Congress as it successfully continued. And we have the Leadership that you all know.

United Christian Democratic Party is a political Party not some tribal authority where leadership is inherited. One has to be an affiliated member to enable him or her to stand for elections and he or she must belong to a specific branch. That’s democracy, not the autocracy that some are portraying. Collective decisions are being taken in a true and democratic society.
